Descending Order In Length

To arrange the number in such a way that the numbers are in decreasing order that is bigger to smaller is known as Descending Order.

Descending Order In Length:

To arrange the values of length given in descending order we will analyse the values and arrange them in decreasing order.

For Example:

Arrange the following lengths in descending order.

236 m, 405 m, 721 m and 133 m.

The numbers 236, 405, 721  and 133 when arranged in descending order will be

721, 405, 236, 133

Hence on arranging the lengths in descending order we will get

721 m, 405 m, 236 m, 133 m

Similarly

For example we have lengths as 100 cm, 10 m, 40 cm, and 50 m.

On comparing the values we find that there are two values which are in centimeters and 2 value which are in meters.

So we will convert them all in cm and will then arrange in ascending order.

On converting the values we will get

100 cm, 1000 cm, 40 cm and 5000 cm.

On analysing the numbers we find that the biggest number is 5000, The number smaller than 5000 and bigger than other numbers is 1000.. Then number smaller than 1000 but bigger than other numbers is 100 and the last number is 40.

Arranging the numbers in the decreasing order we get 5000 > 1000 > 100 > 40

That is 50 m > 10 m > 100 cm< 40 cm

This arrangement is the descending order.
